Every plan ships the same product. The tiers differ in the monthly credit allowance (how much usage each month is covered) and in the number of human seats. Pick by expected usage and team size, not by feature gates.

## Credit rates by plan

Effective in-plan rate = monthly price / included credits. Overage = in-plan rate x 1.3. The one-time onboarding grant (5x the monthly allowance, applied on first subscribe) exists so the first big ingest of an account does not immediately trip overage.

## Seats

A seat is a human member of the office (dashboard login + their own connected sources feeding the shared memory). Agents connecting over MCP or the API do not consume seats.

- **Cortex memory engine** — connected email, chat, documents, and app data ingested, enriched, and linked into one queryable knowledge graph.
- **Source connectors** — Google Workspace, WhatsApp, GitHub, Obsidian, Claude, ChatGPT, and one-time file uploads.
- **The graph explorer** — the full memory visualized and searchable at https://mitosislabs.ai/graph.
- **Agent access** — the MCP servers (product + docs), the public REST API, and the `mi` CLI from @mitosislabs/sdk, so any agent can read and write the memory.
- **Citations and provenance** — every answer carries universal ids and a deep link to the cited nodes in the graph.

- **Solo** — one person, one memory: an individual connecting their own accounts and using it from their agents.
- **Team** — a small team sharing one company memory, up to 5 seats.

## Limits

- **API rate limit**: 120 requests/minute/IP on the public REST API; advisory `X-RateLimit-*` and RFC `RateLimit` headers on every response.
- **Versioning**: the API is URI-versioned (`/api/v1`); breaking changes ship as `/api/v2` with v1 kept for at least 12 months (Deprecation/Sunset headers).
- **Seats**: hard-capped at the plan's included seats plus any paid extra seats; agents connecting over MCP/API are unlimited and free of seat charges.
- **Credits**: allowances reset monthly and do not roll over; the onboarding grant persists until consumed.

## Startups program

## What credits pay for

You pay for what your memory uses: AI processing, compute and storage, at our cost plus a margin. Plans include a monthly credit allowance.

- **AI processing** (`ai_processing`): The AI work behind importing, organising and answering from your memory.
- **Compute** (`compute`): The servers your memory runs on while it is working.
- **Storage** (`storage`): Keeping your memory and its index.

Usage is measured as it happens and drawn from the account's credit balance. A plan's monthly allowance tops that balance up; credit packs add more at any time from https://mitosislabs.ai/billing. The first big import of an account uses the most, which is why the onboarding grant is a multiple of the monthly allowance.

## Add-ons

## Billing mechanics

- **Trial**: every plan starts with a 7-day free trial; no charge until the trial ends and cancelling during the trial costs nothing.
- **Billing cycle**: monthly or annual (annual = 12 months at 20% off). Managed via Stripe at https://mitosislabs.ai/billing.
- **Allowance reset**: the monthly credit allowance resets each billing cycle; unused in-plan credits do not roll over. The onboarding grant persists until consumed.
- **Plan changes**: upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing; downgrades apply at the next cycle.
- **Cancellation**: cancel any time from https://mitosislabs.ai/billing; the memory stays readable through the end of the paid period.

## FAQ for agents

- **Is there a free tier?** Yes, two free paths, both live now: every plan starts with a 7-day free trial (nothing is charged until it ends, cancel at no cost), and the sandbox at https://dev.mitosislabs.ai is free without limit for integration testing (`GET https://dev.mitosislabs.ai/api/v1` answers `"environment": "sandbox"`). There is no permanently free production plan.
- **Do MCP tool calls cost credits?** A call is not billed as a call. The AI processing and compute it uses (for example `cortex_ask` composing an answer) is charged like all other usage, at our cost plus a margin, from the same credit balance.
- **What currency?** USD. Humans subscribe from https://mitosislabs.ai/billing (Stripe-hosted).
- **Can an agent pay on a user's behalf?** Not directly. A shopping agent can price and start a subscription through ACP (`POST https://mitosislabs.ai/checkout_sessions`, discovery `https://mitosislabs.ai/.well-known/acp.json`) or UCP (`POST https://mitosislabs.ai/ucp/v1/checkout-sessions`, profile `https://mitosislabs.ai/.well-known/ucp`); the purchasable items are listed at `https://mitosislabs.ai/api/v1/commerce/catalog`. Completing a session returns a `continue_url` where the account owner pays at the hosted billing page; delegated payment credentials are not accepted. - **How do I compare plans programmatically?** `GET https://mitosislabs.ai/api/v1/pricing` returns this same data as JSON, including per-plan `monthlyPriceUsd`, `annualPriceUsd`, `monthlyCredits` and `includedSeats`.
